General Liability for Firearms, Defense and Tactical Businesses
Premises and products liability written for ranges, retailers, gunsmiths, manufacturers and defense contractors, by people who understand the exposure.
General liability is the foundation of every program we write, and it is also where generic markets get it most wrong. A carrier that does not understand a live-fire environment will either decline the risk or price it as though it were a hardware store.
We rate premises and products separately, because they are separate exposures. A retailer selling factory ammunition carries a different products profile than a manufacturer assembling receivers, and the rating should say so.
What the price turns on
What you are rated on depends on the operation. Retail, wholesale, gunsmithing and manufacturing rate on gross sales. Ranges rate per lane. Hunting preserves rate per acre, and clubs rate on membership. Getting that right is most of getting the premium right.
We set limits, deductible and coverage trigger with you. They’re underwriting decisions, not checkboxes on a form.
